About Stand Sunday
At Sojourn Midtown, we are committed to taking up the cause of the fatherless. One of the main ways we do this is through empowering our members to care for children through our Adoption + Foster Care ministry. Join on Stand Sunday, a moment during our Sunday Service when we remember the needs of vulnerable children and families.
- If you’ve been involved in adoption and foster care in any capacity, we'll ask you to stand (if you are able and comfortable) so we can pray for you and your family.
- If you’re a Midtown member or attender, we'll ask you to join in on this prayer.
- If you’re a current adoptive or foster family, we'd love to meet you. Please connect with our ministry team after service.
- If you are interested in next steps for opening your home, becoming an ally, or serving Adoptive and Foster Families by joining the ready team to provide wrap around support, connect with our ministry team after the service.
We're collecting toothbrushes!
Every Stand Sunday, we highlight the number of children in out-of-home care in Jefferson County by visually representing each child with an item that can later be donated. (One year we made chandeliers out of socks.) This year, Hope's Closet, a free foster care resource closet that our families often utilize, is in need of children's toothbrushes.
So we've created an Amazon Registry to collect 746 toothbrushes that will be displayed in the sanctuary on Stand Sunday. You can order toothbrushes to contribute by Sunday, October 30.
