Mercy Mondays
The zip code Sojourn Midtown is located in has one of the highest overdose rates in the city, and we often interact with people struggling with substance abuse. Knowing how to love and care for these individuals as Christ would is an important way for us to be a life giving presence in our neighborhood.
At this Mercy Monday, Sojourn Carlisle member Katie Fields will be leading a special equipping training for us. Katie works for New Leaf Clinic, an organization providing patients life-changing therapy and caring healthcare professionals dedicated to the treatment of individuals struggling with addiction.
The evening will also include practical training on how to identify and respond to someone experiencing an overdose.
Mercy Mondays are monthly gatherings of Midtowners coming together to do acts of service and prayer in our neighborhood. These events are led by our deacons, focusing on ministry in Shelby Park. Projects will include prayer walks, playing games with teens, praying with neighbors, trash pick-ups, winterizing homes, and landscaping properties.
